VHF Beam headings?

I guess that most of us on VHF (4m in my case) are using beams in which case it would be useful to indicate the approximate bearing in use. Incompatible beam headings might explain why some paths which should be workable aren't.
As there's no proper way to include this information in station parameters I'm including (N) (E) (S) or (W) after my call depending on beam heading. Perhaps others might like to do the same,
