Look for Canadian Amateurs to beacon out on WSPR on the 630 metre band. On May 1, 2014, the Canadian regulator, Industry Canada, released the revised Canadian Table of Frequency Allocations and included the 472 - 479 kHz as a secondary status amateur service allocation allowing up to 5 watts EIRP. With the release of the revised table, Canadian amateurs are now authorized to transmit on this MF band. Credit both Internationally and Nationally should be given to Radio Amateurs of Canada and staff at Industry Canada for championing this new amateur radio allocation.
