I recently successfully operated Raspberry Pi as WSPR beacon. The last "detail" was to write a script to step the frequency to find the exact software value gave the desired output frequency.
In stepping the frequency in small steps, I noticed reception reports from different stations on different frequencies. I realized that frequency hopping is a way to avoid collisions with other transmitters. It is a techique sometime used by constesters trying to find a "good" frequency.
What is the opinion of the group? Is changing the transmit frequency within the "wspr band" an acceptable practice or not?
